COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE
Established in 1947 as a daughter institution of Government Agriculture College and Research Institute Lyallpur (now Faisalabad in Pakistan), the College of Agriculture is a premier constituent college of the PAU. The college started functioning within 3 months after the partition of India in 1947 in the buildings of the Khalsa College, Amritsar. In September 1949, it was decided to shift the college to the rented buildings of the Malwa Khalsa High School, Ludhiana and in 1959 shifted to its present building on the Ferozepur Road about 5 kilometers from the Railway Station, Ludhiana. During the last 25 years, the college has produced about 5000 graduates thereby contributing significantly towards the development of human resources for the state and the country. In recognition of outstanding achievements of the college in the field of agriculture, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry presented an award to the college in 1977.

Biotechnology CenterThis center provides research facilities to the staff and students of the PAU in plant tissue culture and molecular biotechnology. The Biotechnology has been approved as a field of specialization in the field of Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Horticulture, Vegetable Crops, Floriculture and Landscaping, Entomology, Forestry, Animal Science, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, and Veterinary Immunology. |
