humanity," Kenya is home to over 70 ethnic groups, and despite modern
influences and centuries of colonial rule, tribal identity remains strong
throughout Kenya, making it an ideal location to study the impact of
economic and social development on traditional cultures. Nairobi is the
mixing place of Kenyan cultures, it also is the regional base for many
international development organizations and NGO's and offers unparalleled
opportunities to examine the changes facing one of Africa's most diverse and
spectacular nations. Curriculum Highlights: Intensive Language Study: Swahili; Culture and
Development Seminar: Cultural Anthropology, History and Politics, Geography
and Economics, Arts and Humanities, Rural Visit, and Educational Excursion;
Field Study Seminar; and Independent Study Project. (16 credits in total) 2
weeks homestay in Nairobi and 1 week in a rural area. The program generally
