Grassroots Development and NGO Management: This program provides a rare opportunity to participate alongside African development professionals, learning about critical issues of sustainable development through classroom seminars, field work, and collaborative projects.
Curriculum Highlights: Ndebele Language and Culture; Introduction to Development Studies; International Dimensions of Development; Grassroots Development Theory & Practice; Educational Excursion; Grassroots Development Planning & Evaluation Seminar; Village Study; Grassroots Development Independent Study Project. (16 credits in total) Students seeking more comprehensive leadership development training may choose to enroll in the Grassroots Development and NGO Management Certificate Program. 4 weeks homestay in Bulawayo and 2 weeks in a rural area. Educational excursions include NGO project offices and sites in Harare, and Masvingo.
Program Value: Fees include international airfare, health insurance, tuition, full room and board, excursions, and other direct program expenses. Participants pay for domestic travel to the point of departure from the USA.
