Toy Clock

Recycle your breakfast cereal packet to make a friendly clock, as a fun way of learning how to tell the time. Paint the clock face in sunny daytime colours, and surround it with a night sky painted with stars.

YOU WILL NEED

You will need: -
Card (cardboard)
Pencil
Scissors
Emulsion (latex) paint,
in assorted colours
Paintbrush
Craft knife
Paper fastener
Cereal box
Blue and yellow adhesive plastic
Double - side tape

Draw round a small plate on to card (cardboard) and cut out. Find the center of the circle and carefully pierce a hole using the tip of the scissors.

Paint the card circle in a sunny colour and leave it dry. Paint the numerals in contrasting colours with an inner circle of twelve dots. Leave to dry.

Draw two clock hands in the shape of arrows, one longer than the other, onto card and cut it out. Paint and attach the arms to the clock with a paper fastener.

Cover the cereal box with blue adhesive plastic and smooth down, trying to avoid air bubbles.

Stick the clock face on the box with double - sided tape. Cut out stars from yellow adhesive plastic and stick on to the side of the box.

Stick more stars on the front of the clock round the face.
