Stuffed and killed in tubewell room
This is another case in which migrant labour from the Bihar State
was targetted by the terrorists. On October 31, 1992, when the
workers were working in the fields near Payal, some terrorists armed
with sophisticated weapons came there. They dragged the workers
inside a tubewell room. As this was a common modus operandi of the
terrorists before killing the farm labourers, the latter started
screaming like the poor scapegoats. Screams notwithstanding, the
terrorists started firing on them from a point blank range. Nine
labourers got killed in the shoot-out, but nobody could know their
fault.
Seven
innocent persons killed
It was a normal summer evening of July 3, 1992. The main bazar at
Bassian of district Jagraon was busy as usual. Buyers were strolling
in the bazar, as a few shop keepers were playing cards in front of a
shop. They didn't realise that their death was standing behind them.
It was 6.30 PM. Three terrorists who had come on a scooter,
approached these shopkeepers and started firing on them with
sophisticated guns. People started running to save their lives.
However, seven innocent persons couldn't succeed. They fell prey to
the terrorists' bullets.
Nine got killed near Chandigarh
In their spree to kill people in buses, the terrorists played havoc
on November 22, 1990. A bus No. CHW-8904/40 started from Mullanpur
(a village near Chandigarh) at 5.40 PM for Ferozepur. When it
reached near a brick kiln at 6.15 PM., two more buses were already
standing there. The terrorists had used a tractor trolley to block
the road.
When all these three buses were stopped, the extremists kidnapped a
few people. Others were asked to run away. Later they killed nine
persons and two more got injured.

Terrorists
Came Posing as Cops
This is a case
in which terrorists came posing as cops and killed the innocent
people. On January 8, 1992, eight persons in Police uniform came to
a textile mill at Kharar. The workers were busy in their day-to-day
activities. The terrorists, posing as policemen, asked the mill
workers to gather at a particular place. They pretended to discuss
with them certain issues related to the elections. Over 20 workers
obliged. They could not sense that the guns carried by these
cops-looking men were not to protect them, but to kill them. When
they all gathered at one place, the terrorists started firing on
them. Five innocent workers were killed on the spot and many others
got injured. Unlike in most other cases, the terrorist leader in
this shoot out was an aged person, in his late forties.
Ten family members killed
January is the peak winter month in Punjab. People generally take
their meals and go to bed early. On one such winter night of January
6,1989 at about 8.30 P.M., Mohinder's family was happily sitting at
home in village Baddowal. Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
Without any
apprehension, they opened the door. Little did they know that
actually it was a death knock. About eight terrorists, armed with
guns, forced their entry into the house. And, before the innocent
family members could dare to ask anything, the cruel terrorists
started firing on them from a point-blank range. Ten family members
were killed in the shoot out. The terrorists just walked away.
