This region includes the northernmost
districts of Punjab from the Beas northward to the valley of
the Ravi, roughly the districts of Amritsar and parts of
Gurdaspur and Fazilka. In contrast to Malwa, Majha is the
cradle of Sikhism and by extension, Gurmatt Sangeet. Dhadhis,
vaar poetry, bhangra and akhara ke bol are typical of this
region.
